Replace a music file
This swaps one file you have already sent to a competition for a different track from your storage. The routine details stay exactly as they are — only the audio changes. Once you replace a file the old one is removed from the competition folder and cannot be brought back, so check the details below before you go ahead.
Not an MP3 or M4A?
Competitions only accept MP3 and M4A audio. Convert your track first and it will appear in your storage, ready to pick here.
Step 1 The entry you are replacing
These details come from the file already sitting in the competition folder. They cannot be changed here — to move an entry to a different day or section, delete it in Manage / Check Uploads and transfer it again.

Step 2 Choose the replacement file
Pick any music file sitting in your storage. It keeps this entry’s item number, performer name and section — only the audio changes.
What happens when you replace
The file listed in Step 1 is deleted from the competition folder and the new one is put in its place, renamed to match this entry. The replacement is marked as not yet checked, so play it in Manage / Check Uploads afterwards and approve it again. Replacing is not possible after the competition’s lockout date.
Replacing your file
This usually takes under a minute, and longer for a big file. Please leave this page open until it finishes.
The file has been replaced
The new track is now in the competition folder under this entry’s name. It is marked as not yet checked — please play it in Manage / Check Uploads and approve it.
We could not replace the file
The file you chose could not be read from your storage. Delete it in Manage Storage, upload it again, then come back and try once more. If it keeps failing, contact the office and quote error NFS001.
Before you replace
Three things worth checking first — it saves a phone call on competition morning.
-
1
Play the new file first
Listen to it in Manage Storage before you replace, so you know it is the right cut, the right length and it does not start with silence.
-
2
Check the lockout date
Once a competition locks, nothing can be replaced or deleted. If you are close to the date, contact the competition directly rather than relying on this page.
-
3
Check it again afterwards
A replaced file is marked as not yet checked. Go back into Manage / Check Uploads, play it, and approve it so the competition knows it is final.
It is your music, and your responsibility to check it
MusicUploads stores and delivers the file you choose. Please make sure the right track is in the right entry — play it back after every upload, transfer and replacement. If something is not right, contact the office well before the competition date.
